This guy is on a bad run of luck. Needs to find a job, but can’t seem to make it to the interview on time. He’s an eternal optimist though, “he’s still above ground” and has a lead on a job down at the bar.

He’s a bit distracted by the new strings on his guitar. He loves how they sound and how they make him feel. Other things, no matter their importance, can wait until he’s done playing his guitar. What serious guitar player hasn’t been there?

The County and his friends take care of his needs, so he’s got a safety net. He’s still looking for work, but those strings are calling to him - “maybe one more song” and he’s headed out to find work. Tough to keep new guitar strings in tune and tougher yet to find work! Let’s all wish him luck!

Late for the interview; got turned away. Looked in the paper, but no one’s hirin’ today
Could use the money to fix up my old truck, cuz lately all I’m ridin’ is a bad run of luck
